Singapore's Disgrace

Isn't it shameful what has, or rather, hasn't, hit the news? A few days ago, there was a small article that reported the police had not granted a license fora gay party. This is utterly disgraceful, reasons cited include the age old excuse, traditional Asian values. What, may I ask, are these? Filial piety? Found all over the world. Don't murder? Oh please...

Even if we were to accept there is such a wonderful thing, what the government is in effect saying is that their values are far better than anyone else's, thus taking a very patriachal stand to everything. What they are doing is imposing their own moral values on others, yet claiming "no discrimination". Isn't that absurd?

The next problem is that argument about what's "natural". In my opinion, its a load of elephant dung. First, what is natural, and why is it so good? Human beings do unnnatural things all the time. Skyscrapers are unnatural, so are cars. No one has proven how one's sexual orientation is a yardstick for morality. Even if we do accept biased figures that homosexuals are more promiscious, its only because they have nothing to tie them down, like marriage. The even if it is a choice, it is between 2 consenting adults, with no 3rd party harm. We shouldn't discriminate on choice.
